Pupils in driving seat at Monifieth High

Evening Telegraph, UK  -  Aug 27, 2004

Monifieth High School held a driver proficiency training day today for all of its sixth-year pupils.

Representatives from Tayside Police, the Driving Standards Agency, the Vehicle Inspectorate along with local driving instructors were at the school to offer pupils instruction on being safe drivers.

All pupils were split into three separate groups to participate in workshops.

These covered choosing a driving instructor, the theory and practical tests, the pass plus scheme, safety checks and mechanics on the vehicle.

In addition, those pupils with current provisional licences were given the opportunity for a short lesson on the road.

Tayside Police will be offering the driver proficiency training at other schools in the Angus area.
