Re: Refunds

Charge the 3 hours given at full hourly rate and refund any balance that remains.

Re: Refunds

I would do the same as Mentor.
Did she pay cash or cheque?

Re: Refunds

I give vouchers which have terms on stating that they are valid for 6 months, so I would refund after 2 months.

Re: Refunds

Pay up. Defo refund. Were you thinking of pocketing the rest she paid?
What do your T&C's say on the matter?

Re: Refunds

J24 dont like the tone of the post....no I wasnt of as you bluntly put it pocketing the rest.. was thinking along lines of what mentor wisely suggests, as she has come out of block booking agreement no longer applies 17 per lesson..think I will have to update my T&Cs as this is the first time this has happened

Re: Refunds

Apologies if you thought my tone was wrong. Just seems fairly obvious to me.
Sounded like you wanted opinions on if you should be refunding or not. The other option would be to pocket the remainder and ignore your pupils request. The answer just seemed obvious and that's maybe why I posted the way I did. Apologies again.

Re: Refunds

I charge all lessons taken at my full hourly rate. The balance is then refunded LESS a £5 per hour remaining admin charge to cover my time and effort in organising the refund. This is what the DIA suggest in their own version of terms and conditions.
