Off road tuition

Hi guys does anybody offer off road tuition for 14 year olds plus?
What sort of things do you offer? How long is the lesson? How  much do you charge?
Where do you use for training area? Do they charge you for use of grounds?
Thanks

Re: Off road tuition

Hi Peter,
There are quite a few companies out there now offering young driver training. Youngdriver.eu is one of them and they offer tuition to 11+ year olds.  They hold a specialist insurance that covers them from this age range which has been negotiated with the insurance company as part of a nationwide scheme.
For the independent ADI, depending on their specific policies, this will normally be 15+ for off roading tuition.
I do know several ADIs in my area who provide the type of service you are enquiring about and they use a variety of places to do this, e.g. college/school grounds, disused airfileds etc., there are a lot of hoops to jump through to secure these locations, but it certainly is achievable if you do a bit of research in your area to seek out potential sites.
The sessions in my area (Surrey) are an hour in duration and cost £45 and cover Controls, moving off, stopping, an area where manoeuvres can be done, distraction exercises, that sort of thing.
There is a market for young driver training and if used correctly, can be most beneficial.
I personally do offer this service but it is funded through my local Council and run in private schools in my area.  The sessions are bespoke for each school as it is part of a curriculum which includes classroom theory sessions, the course is spread out over 11 weeks, and two of these sessions include the practical element of driving on the school grounds.

The possibilities are endless, it's up to you how far you want to take it.

Good luck and let us know how you get on. smile
