Part 1,2 and 3 to be scraped!

I have heard that part 1, 2 and 3 is going to be scraped in the New Year and replaced with NVQ in 2012

This was with some of the local DSA meeting.

More likely that future PDIs will have to have some sort of qualification before applying....

It's 2014. In the interim there will be an enhanced DSA route but this will be phased out by 2014. The qualifying process will then be similar to that of an NVQ.

This means that training organisations will have to become accredited by an awarding body (such as Edexcel or AQA)to train PDI's. This was mentioned in the last edition of Despatch and the Modernising Driver Training report.

I believe the AA/BSM and the DIA have already made enquiries into becoming accredited.
