can i take the driving test if i'm foreign

Hi my husband is german and wish to take his driving licence exams in England. Is it possible? Will he need special papers?

Hi Magali

First of all I'd like to welcome you to the boards.

Secondly it will depend on how long your husband has been resident in England.

He needs to have been resident in England for at least 6 months out of the past 12 months.

Then he should be able to apply for a British Provisional licence. Once he has the licence he'll be able to take lessons, and his driving test once ready.
