MAKING PROGRESS

Hi,
When on a 40 mph road, and pupil is not making progress, how do you get them to go at 40mph if it's safe to do that speed, do i just pick an object like lampost and say get to 40mph by that lampost, or is there another way.
thanks in advance.  big_smile

Re: MAKING PROGRESS

First of all find out why they are not driving at the speed limit. Ask them do they know what the speed limit is?Are they aware that they are not driving at 40? Is it because they don`t know what the speed limit is, or maybe they are scared of the speed.

I normally ask them to gently press the accelerator untill they get to the required speed.  If they are scared of the speed then get them to increase it in steps of 5mph until they are comfortable.

Re: MAKING PROGRESS

I would also make sure they are looking well ahead and not at the road near the front of the car.
