Don't think anyone knows for sure yet mate, I know Go-skills will be one of the main surpliers though.

Just wait and see,  sad

Wayne

Are you concerned with what training you need to do to gain your Driver CPC or are you thinking of being involved in training for it.

Re: cpc for bus and wagons

The problem for those of us in the industry is that we don't know much about what we are going to be expected to do - all we know is we'll have to do some extra training at some point

Really we need to find out more information

Re: cpc for bus and wagons

The sylabus for the Driver CPC for existing PCV/LGV drivers is very broad and can include lots of different subjects.  It is just that the courses and training provider must be approved.  For instance for our coach drivers I could have course that covered health & safety topics, these could include first aid and manual handling.  So some of this is stuff that we would normally do and if the course was approved it would then count towards the required 35 hours of training every 5 years.

Those professional drivers employed by larger employers should find that their employers will be on the case and arrange the training.  It's the small employers and self employed drivers who will have more of a problem.

Have a look at this link  http://www.dsa.gov.uk/Category.asp?cat=472  you can get more detailed info by clicking on the subjects on the left hand side of page.

Any existing drivers have until 2013/2014 to complete the 35 hours.  We intend to do a days training each year specific to the CPC sylabus.
