Lane discipline joining or leaving a roundabout on a dual carriageway

If you have 3 or 4 roundabouts close together on a dual carriageway say within 300 meters of each other and you know you want to turn right at the final roundabout. Is there anything wrong with joining or coming off the first roundabout in the right hand lane, then following the road ahead in the right hand lane so your positioned in the right lane for the final roundabout. Would that be considered hogging the right hand lane or just using your local knowledge to plan your drive. Assuming of course there are no road signs or marking preventing you from doing the above.

If you are followed by someone who shows every intention to pass ...
If there's a lay-by, petrol station, road crossing on the d/c ...
If at some point the d/c sweeps left or right ...
It depends.

A very big, it depends.

Is there any reason that the first 2/3 cannot be dealt with in left lane and then move to right lane as leaving the penultimate?

If traffic flows persuade, then dealing as you have suggested may well be the most appropriate route.

The first 2 or 3 could be dealt with in the left lane it just means you have to keep changing lanes it just seems more efficient to stick to the right lane. The main reason I ask is because of the new law regarding hogging the outer lanes.

Contrary to some very inaccurate reporting in the media, there is NO new law.

All that has changed is that the police can now issue an FPN for the offence of careless driving, instead of having to take it to court, so we may see the existing law enforced more often.

Hogging equates to preventing others progressing in the overtaking lane.

If the flow of traffic is heavy, I would be more likely to stay in the right hand lane keeping pace as long as the pace isn't breaking the speed limit.

I rather think the lane hogging refers more to the slower moving vehicles holding up others wishing to progress but not wanting to pass on the left although that in itself isn't illegal.
