After consultation with a group of representatives from Special Educational Needs (SEN) the DSA are going to make some changes to the Theory Test in January 2013.
From the above date a theory test questions will be in the format select one answer from four options. Question where you select 2 from 5 or 3 from 6 will be abolished.
A colleague has recently written to the DSA to ask when an announcement would be made with regards to the above. The reply they received is below;
"We had not proposed to make a formal announcement, as the changes are applicable for car and bike tests only. We are standardising on 1 from 4, but other assessments (LGV, PCV, ADI etc.) will continue to have other question formats."

They wrote again;
Do the DSA intend to use a new revised question bank? and will the DSA be;
Replacing the affected questions with brand new ones?
Simply removing some of the multiple choice answers from the affected questions, leaving only 4 possible answers?
Completely removing the affected questions and not replace with new ones?
We are constantly writing and trialling new questions for future updates of the tests. This will involve the removal of options within existing questions, but also could lead to the removal of the question if any of the distracters are not discriminating."
All this help for those who struggle with the written theory but still no help for those who struggle with the HPT
