After a career in Specific Needs Education I saw the need to develop my driving school to specialise in teaching those who were having difficulty in learning to drive or had lost the skill owing to ageing, illness or disability. Many of my clients are referred by other instructors or specialist agencies and have such problems as Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Aspergers etc. As I believe in Developmental Driving rather than Instruction, I am also asked to teach a number of students without any problems, but who appreciate being taught in a student centred manner.

Area Covered
John Brown is based in Wimborne, but for an additional cost, will cover The wider Dorset, Salisbury and Ringwood areas for those with Specific Needs. Clients need to explain to me why they feel I should be their instructor and they need to be as committed to working hard as I will be to help them succeed. I provide a small Daihatsu Sirion automatic, a Toyota Yaris Manual and a Yaris Verso automatic equipped with hand controls for disability tuition.
