You will need adobe acrobat reader to view the consultation paper for the proposed changes to the practical test.
http://www.dsa.gov.uk/Documents/Consultation/ltd/DSA%20-%204222%20Consultation%20Bro-20080605.pdf
May I request anyone and everyone complete the consultation paper, this will affect all of us, especially the drivers' of the future so have your say and be heard!
Better still, attend a meeting in your area and make your voice heard (fill out online booking)

Folks you have to remember, these PROPOSED changes only, they may not implement them. It still needs approval before they can implement them

I suspect they are "proposed" in the same way they always "propose" Test Fee increases which always seem to increase in line with the "proposal"!

I'm all for discussion rather than dictation, but why are they doing this? By now the DSA must realise that we don't believe them when they say our views are being taken into consideration.

It's like the person who pulls out in front of you and then thanks you, I'd rather they didn't bother, it's just an insult and not politeness!

Couldn't agree more.

Can't see any point in going to any DSA discussion group meeting. They have practically already said that we are having what they propose.
A few weeks ago , a colleague went to the one in Manchester and when the proposal on the star rating came up, almost all the ADI's present stated that it was not necessary. DSA has good has said it didn't matter because it was going to happen anyway.

This whole consultation is just a case of using the same old tactic of dictation covered over by so called consultation. just like HPT, MPTC's, TEST FEE RISES.

I find it very difficult to believe that DSA will ever listen to any form of consultation.
