Anyone any tips to remove stubborn marks from paintwork?

Ive tried WD 40 in the past any other ideas?

The best thing to remove tar is a rag dampened with ordinary petrol.

A friend used that method once and it worked a treat, but took the paint off as well.  Mind you that might have had more to do with the fire that followed as he was smoking at the time and the rag was more than damp.

Remember that petrol dissolves the stain (and the paint) whereas Brasso (and T-cut) are very fine abrasives. So be careful how much you use - especially petrol Smiley

Any decent solvent should work, lighter fluid, cellulose thinners etc. Bit they will take your polish off as well.

If you want to make the best job of a car clean use Detailing spray and a clay bar, then polish as normal. removes all the pollutants without taking any paint off.

I have full autoglym treatment to apply, garage gave me the aftercare kit and the dealer kit. (Having already applied it to my car) So thinking of doing the wifes car.

Probably best to get some of the autoglym tar remover to be on the safe side  cheesy cheesy
